The Master Weaver

Jesus Christ is the Master Weaver and we are as the “thread” in the weaving that He is skillfully working. Picture Jesus working with His Hands creating a Master Weaving of such epic and beautiful proportions. We are the thread, limp, in His Hands, awaiting His next touch. Clean and colorful! We slide through the eye of the needle in the hands of the Master Weaver. We allow Jesus to push the needle through the fabric.

We know we are surrounded by other colors…other threads of different hue…and Jesus, with His skilled hands, works with us there in that portion of the “tapestry” in such a perfect and beautiful way that He makes the best use possible of our own particular and unique color!

No one else weaves the “threads” together like Jesus Christ does! Soon, Jesus is finished with a certain thread in that section of the tapestry and He removes it from the eye of the needle…then He removes some other threads from a row of needles and begins to re-thread those needles with different colors. The threads he has removed are put onto new needles…different sizes and shapes for doing different kinds of needlework on another section of the “Great Tapestry.”

The threads do not know where they are being placed nor just what type of design the Master in intending to make with them. They are just threads, made to be woven. We are like the threads of a “Great Tapestry.” We must allow Jesus to “weave” us in the portion of tapestry He is now working on. Perhaps He once used us on the “Border” of the Great Tapestry. But now He is beginning to use us in the center, a very delicate move, requiring skilled and artistic hands. The Master Weaver knows what His “Great Tapestry” is about and He knows what it will look like when He’s finished.

Someday, after we are totally woven into this wonderful plan of Christ, He will hold us up before His face and we will understand “why”. We will know all the answers as we once again look deeply into His eyes of truth, beauty, and understanding. We will be so thankful that we are a small part, even a little corner of the “Great Tapestry” of human love mixed with Divine skill…we will be so glad to have been used by the Master Weaver.
