…..and the Angel said to her,
“The Holy Spirit will come upon you
And the power of the Highest will overshadow you;
Therefore also, that Holy one who is to be born will be called the “Son of God.’”

The Song Mary sang was filled with words which reflected her heart.

Mary’s Song

My soul does magnify the Lord
In my God do I rejoice!
For He has rewarded my lowly estate
And I have heard His voice.

He who is Mighty has done Great Things!
I do not speak with shame.
His Mercy is with those who Fear Him
Holy is his Name.

He has scattered the proud heart
He has brought down the “exalted throne”
With good things He has filled
The hungry soul
His Mercies they have known.

My soul does magnify the Lord
The generations shall call me blessed.
My spirit rejoices in My Savior God
And I will fulfill His request.

This was Mary’s heart when she discovered she would be the Mother of our Lord Jesus Christ.
When the words of the Angel came they penetrated every ounce of her understanding.
They were words that were unheard of and unfathomable
For a young Jewish girl who had never been married.
Yet Mary said, “My soul does magnify the Lord”

May the Lord grant Grace to us, His children,
To receive the supernatural manifestations of His Love
In such humility of heart as Mary.
