Merry Christmas

Manger Song
By Sondra Stallman

A night to behold!
A night to remember!
The deep and silent night
When you were born
The soft lowing of the cattle
The baa-baa of the sheep
The dark and cold manger
With only the
Sound of Mary giving birth

Gentle tears of Joy
Were silently falling
From Joseph’s eyes
As you came forth
And wrapped your tiny fingers
Around his rough
Carpenter’s hand

Small, small feet
A tiny, hungry mouth
The savior of the world
Needed his mother
And Mary sang
She sang for him,
“baby, baby, hush you now!
My tiny son
My gift from God,
My greatest Joy,
My Jesus boy
Baby, baby,
Hush you now.”

And as she sang
The cattle ceased their lowing
The sheep lay in the hay,
The silent stars
Arranged themselves
To speak to
Wise men far away
And, as she sang in the quiet deep,
A kingdom came.
A kingdom came.

CHRISTMAS SIGNS
By Bonnie Bollman

A light, a star, a miracle,
Proclaim the holy birth
As God looks down
With wond’rous love
Upon the men of earth
He gave his Son,
His only Son,
To come a baby born;
In swaddling clothes in manger laid,
The King a world would scorn.
